CPB Mackay

CPB Contractors has a construction office in Mackay to build the Mackay Ring Road.

The CPB Mackay office was challenged with no Fibre services available in Mackay. CPB was unable to secure a reliable private network service to prevent their staff from using a VPN connection. The services that were available, were highly contented 3G/4G mobile services with wireless dongles and small download packages, causing low productivity for the onsite staff.

March IT was required to deliver:

• Provide a reliable 10Mbps/10Mbps Private Data Network to the Mackay Office
• Services to be handed off in NextDC B1, Brisbane
• 10Mbps/10Mbps Internet service for CPB’s subcontractor

March IT delivered a 10Mbps/10Mbps private data service to the CPB Mackay Ring Road office. These services were delivered over Fixed Wireless technologies and connected back to the CPB private network in Brisbane. By using the existing interconnect established between March IT and CPB, the project office was easily connected into the corporate network as soon as the services were installed.

March IT was also able to provide a 10Mbps/10Mbps internet service to the CPB subcontractor to assist with delivering the project, and eliminating the need for highly contented 3G/4G services.

March IT delivered a reliable, high speed private network to the CPB Mackay construction office. This service improved the productivity of staff working on the Ring Road project by allowing direct, secure access to company and project resources through the private network.

With the delivery of telecommunications to the project office, March IT was able to provide:

• Reliable telecommunications to a site where unreliable and highly contended 3G service were the only options
• Increased productivity from staff on site
• A platform for the project to be delivered on time and on budget
