The Role

MarchNet is a specialist telecommunications company building smarter networks to service our remote and regional clients.  MarchNet is part of the Maret Group, which owns and operates over 600 fixed wireless access sites across Australia.

Bring your existing networking knowledge to deliver high capacity carrier grade services to regional and remote locations. Use outside of the box thinking to create quality designs that deliver to MarchNet standards. Utilising our network management system review the multi-mix technology carrier network for improvement.

 

Responsibilities and duties of this role include:

  • Create designs delivering high capacity services to regional and remote locations for the Pre-Sales and Projects teams
  • Hands on and remote assistance for the Projects team delivering the solution you designed
  • Create documentation that captures all required details to support completed projects
  • Proactively review and suggest improvements to the multi-mix technology carrier network
  • Create and improve standards under our ISO 9001:2015 quality management system

 

About You

The successful applicant for this role must be working towards or possess a tertiary qualification in IT or similar, has a passion for networking and systems and takes pride in their work.

They’ll ideally have the following attributes/qualifications:

  • Willingness to work hands on
  • Able to occasionally travel (including overnight stays) to remote sites
  • Thorough understanding of the following technologies:
    • IPV4 and IPV6 addressing and subnetting
    • MPLS (L3VPN and EoMPLS)
    • Firewalling
    • Routing (OSPF, eBGP and iBGP)
    • Switching
    • Wi-Fi (Outdoor/indoor topologies, centralisation)
  • CCNA, JNCIA or higher qualification
  • Demonstrated experience working in an environment using the above technologies
  • Ability to work with Windows and Linux servers
  • Experience working with rural and remote sites an advantage
  • Experience with fixed wireless (Licensed, unlicensed, PTP and PMP) an advantage
